A new study has revealed that ultra-processed foods, including packaged snacks and sugary drinks, may increase a person’s risk of developing bowel cancer.

Researchers found that ultra-processed foods, including soft drinks, packaged snacks, commercial bread, cakes, biscuits and sweets, ready-to-eat products or pre-processed caloric products were linked to an increased risk of bowel cancer.

And they noted: “Women who ate the highest amounts of ready-made meals had a 17 percent risk of developing bowel cancer compared to those in the lowest consumption group,” according to “The Independent.”

And the study pointed out: “Men who ate the largest amounts of ready meals containing meat, poultry or seafood were more likely to develop bowel cancer,” explaining: “Men who drank the most sugar-sweetened beverages were 21 percent more likely to develop bowel cancer compared to those who drank the most sugar-sweetened beverages.” who drank less.
