A pedestrian was mowed down on Saturday evening by a vehicle on the A26, near Flesquières, in the north of France, indicates The voice of the North.
Despite the intervention of the emergency services, the pedestrian, originally from Douai and aged around fifty, did not survive.
According to initial information, the 50-year-old had run out of fuel on the road and had left his vehicle, parked on the hard shoulder, to contact his relatives. He was then mowed down by a vehicle when the artery was not lit.
The driver responsible for his death was in a state of shock when help arrived.
