Embracing Change: A Journey through Cancer and Self-Reflection

2023-11-02 16:03:08

In the early stages of cancer, I kept thinking about what was wrong with my old lifestyle. Why does it happen to me with a chance of only 1 in 100,000? Why am I not so lucky when I buy lottery tickets????

Looking back on the past & facing the uncertainty of the future

Perhaps, it is because I have always indulged myself in the eating habits of eating junk food and drinking sugary hand drinks. These unhealthy living habits planted the seeds of pancreatic tumors, causing my tumors to gradually sprout and grow stronger???? ➡️????️

When I learned that I had cancer, I reflexively asked the doctor: “Doctor, how long can I live?” In retrospect, this was actually a stupid question ???? After all, doctors are not God, and everyone’s disease progresses It will vary depending on various factors such as individual differences, treatment response or subsequent reaction to drugs.

Medicine can only provide a statistical “average”, which is a big data and does not represent the actual survival period of each person.

change in mood

I have a naturally optimistic and often naturally high personality, and I cannot endure low moods for too long. Perhaps this is also my personality. When I learned that I had cancer, even though I was shocked at the moment, I was also full of anxiety about the changes in the future.

But I only experienced a short three-day low period. I didn’t want to continue to be immersed in melancholy and think wildly, so I started to shift my attention.

I desperately searched the Internet for all the information about pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors????‍????I wanted to understand in the shortest time what kind of cancer neuroendocrine tumors are and the direction of subsequent treatment.

After all, before you want to defeat the enemy, you must first understand the enemy, which is the concept of “know yourself and the enemy, and you will be victorious in every battle” R~????

The company and support of my family give me full of positive energy

After suffering from cancer, I learned to cherish the people around me even more. It was only after I got cancer that I realized that my family’s company and support have always been my biggest motivation in fighting cancer????

Now, I cherish the time I spend with my family more. I no longer worry about small things like before, and my outlook on life is much more open-minded~

Just like a classic line in the movie “Life’s Greatest Events”: “Except for death, there is no great event.”

This sentence really touched me deeply. Many times we will worry about the things in front of us, and even get into trouble. But after things change, you will find that there is nothing more important in life than life and death.

From the movie “Life Events”Another golden line: “In a person’s life, except for the happiness from the heart and the health that cannot be stolen, there is nothing worth showing off.”One more sentence makes it clear that in life, only happiness and health are irreplaceable~
