Ephemeral mode and improved vocals

Messenger, Facebook’s instant messaging platform, has just launched a new feature. This new update, which will be available very soon on the messaging application, will allow users to record and send voice messages that can last up to 30 minutes.

News that will be good for fans, but perhaps bad for receivers. For now, it is possible to send several voice messages following a maximum duration of one minute on Messenger. Extended vocals aren’t Messenger’s only update.

Users will now be able to have more control over their audio messages. It will also be possible to listen to the recorded message before sending it to its recipient. But also to pause it to check and then continue and resume recording.

In other words, it is no longer necessary to re-record the voice message if our finger accidentally slips. Like WhatsApp messaging, another messaging service owned by Meta, Facebook’s parent company, which already has these features by allowing you to send audio messages that can last up to 15 minutes, Messenger will no longer allow to send the message after releasing the record button. The latter will also bring changes to the ephemeral mode, which deletes messages after they are sent.

From now on, it will be possible to share GIFs, stickers or even react to messages. And if the recipient takes a screenshot of the conversation, the lover will be notified. After announcing the rollout of ephemeral messages on Messenger in November 2020, in the United States, Facebook is making Vanish Mode available to all users.

Furthermore, the principle of this new mode will be to cause the message to disappear once it has been viewed by the recipient. It will also be possible to activate it by opening an existing discussion thread on a mobile device and dragging the slider up.

Then, to return to a normal discussion mode, you will have to drag the slider up again. Not to mention that in this mode, the user will be notified if the recipient took a screenshot of the conversation.
