Ermakova talks about Boris Becker’s prison sentence – and his children

They connect an affair – and a daughter together. Angela Ermakova and Boris Becker have not had a close relationship in recent years. But after the verdict against the ex-tennis star, she shows pity above all.

Two years and six months: This sentence has Boris Becker got thrown up on Friday. He will have to serve at least half of it, and the 54-year-old was not granted probation. The harshness of the verdict also “shocked” Angela Ermakova, with whom Becker has their daughter Anna.

The 54-year-old ex-model has now told this in an interview with “Bild”. “I am very sad,” she continues there and explains: “I feel sorry.” In the summer of 1999, shortly after Becker’s departure from the round of 16 at Wimbledon, Ermakova and the then tennis star met in a London restaurant – and ended up together in the broom closet, which is still notorious today. The 22 year old today Anna Ermakova arose from the affair.

“He needs his father at this crucial time”

But it’s not just their daughter that Angela Ermakova is now publicly concerned about. She is also seriously worried about Amadeus, who is only twelve years old: “Amadeus is going through puberty, he goes to a new school, he has to find new friends there,” she describes her thoughts and adds: “He needs his father in this one crucial time of his life. Especially when the British press writes about it and other 12-year-olds read it.”

Also with Amadeus’ mother Lilly Becker she sympathizes. After all, Lilly bears the burden in this “difficult situation”, both “emotionally” and “financially,” says Angela Ermakova. She now wishes Boris Becker “that he manages to convert his sentence into a shorter one”. In addition, Angela Ermakova hopes for him that he will muster “strength” “to get up again as a stronger man”.

Becker’s daughter Anna wants to visit him

Daughter Anna Ermakova spoke up immediately after the verdict of the British Southwark Crown Court. “I will support him and I will visit him whenever I can. I hope that will help a little to get through the time,” she told the “Bild” newspaper. Anna Ermakova is the only daughter of Boris Becker. In addition to Amadeus, he has two other sons: 28-year-old Noah and 22-year-old Elias Becker.

Judge Deborah Taylor sentenced the six-time Grand Slam winner to two and a half years in prison last Friday. He had previously been found guilty on four out of 24 charges by a grand jury in his adopted home of London. Becker is said to have concealed his assets in the millions after he was declared bankrupt by a London court in 2017. He and his team can still appeal the guilty verdict and the sentence. But Becker has been behind bars since Friday afternoon Wandsworth Prison in London.
