This Thursday, November 16, a major cross-border control operation “Euregioprotect / Crossover” took place. It mobilized 350 police and customs officers from 14 authorities in the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium.

In addition to the police headquarters of Aachen and Cologne and the police authorities of the districts of Düren, Heinsberg and Euskirchen, the main customs office of Aachen and the federal police were also involved in the ‘operation. On the Dutch side, agents from the Politie Limburg and the Koninklijke Marechaussee were mobilized. In Belgium, the checks were carried out by the police forces of the Vesdre-Gueule and Eifel police zones and by the federal police of Eupen. These forces were supported by the Liège motorway police and the Eupen customs office.

Not to mention that a man was also checked at the border between Germany and the Netherlands, while he was wanted in the Netherlands for attempted homicide. The man was arrested and taken to the appropriate authorities.
