When the announcement was made on Wednesday evening, musician and presenter Tom Kaulitz caused excitement among his fans with an Instagram post.
The husband of model Heidi Klum has been on Instagram for almost ten years, but is not very communicative there: “I have never posted anything,” said the 34-year-old in front of hundreds of viewers at a Netflix presentation in Berlin.
He only has this single post in his official account. “You don’t even have a profile picture,” said his twin brother Bill, amused.
Bill demonstratively assisted Tom in promoting the Netflix documentary to the public via Instagram. Tom’s verified account dates from April 2014. Singer Bill has been there for just as long and has more than 2,700 posts there. Tom’s message was very successful: it received more than 100,000 likes and a good 7,000 comments in the first twelve hours. Tom has a million followers on Instagram, Bill has 1.5 million.

The format “Kaulitz & Kaulitz” will be shown on Netflix from June 25th. “For the first time, Bill and Tom Kaulitz are opening the doors to their home and offering an exclusive look into their private lives,” said Netflix. Excerpts show very private moments. “We are like one person,” said Tom there. “And he has one side and I have the other.”
Bill and Tom Kaulitz grew up near Magdeburg, and as teenagers they founded the band Tokio Hotel with Gustav Schäfer and Georg Listing.
