Extraordinary! A dog raised by coyotes is reinserted into society

An extraordinary case happened in Nevada, United States, when an animal group achieved the social reinsertion of a canine that was raised by coyotes, since it was a puppy. The animal had to be separated from the deserts of the North American State, since its condition was unfavorable.

US authorities narrated that the quadruped was apparently abandoned in the area, and spent several days looking for company, until it found a pack of coyotes, which against all odds, accepted it into their group.

They also pointed out that the boy’s name is ‘Ghost’ and was chosen by the residents of the area who, amazed by his white fur and the difficulty in detecting him two days in a row, believed that he was a “desert ghost”.

It seems that Ghost was left in the desert at six or eight months of age and somehow the coyotes accepted him. He was running with them, eating with them, and living as one of them.“said rescuer Susan McMullen of the Southern Nevada Capture Service (SCSN).

In this sense, the female said that the intervention of the SCSN was empowered by the wounds exhibited by the animal and by the high probability that it was attacked by other wild groups.

We began to see him limping and we were afraid that the coyotes could attack him.“He added in his speech.

Along these lines, McMullen pointed out that the imprisonment of the dog took more than seven months and had the participation of neighbors. After materializing, the veterinarians of Pet Supply, an animal shelter, perceived skin problems, a broken finger and infections in the scrotum.

For this reason, he received detailed treatment in order to restore his fur. Unfortunately, the specialists had to amputate his finger and castrate him; since both deficiencies were already intractable.

After several months of care and conditioning, Pet Supply said that ‘Ghost’ would be ready to be adopted. Finally, he assured that the wild attitudes of the coyotes would not have influenced the “ghost of the desert.”
