Xbox promised: No CGI trailers at the Xbox Games Showcase. Are Fable’s graphics actually real?

In the quite interesting Xbox Games Showcase there was finally a gameplay trailer for Fable (4). Or was it all just fake? Video gamers around the world were skeptical that the “gameplay” shown was actually the original. After all, it just looked “too good” to actually consider it gameplay. Lukas Koelzthe Lead Light Artist at Playground Games, has an interesting answer on the Graphic Fable!
Was it all just fake? No. At least Koelz finds the discussion about the gameplay idea amusing.
“You’re one of the best compliments when you think it’s ‘not real’ or the game won’t look like it,” the Playground staffer tweeted. He also provided four screenshots.

Fable 4: Do the graphics really look like the trailer shown?
Even after Koelz’s Twitter post, not everyone is convinced. On the other hand, “CallSignAlfa” might be right when saying, “People need to realize that the Forza Tech game engine is a graphical beast. Check out Forza Horizon 5, it looks amazing.” – After all, it is the same engine that Fable uses. Just adapted to a role-playing game.
Xbox had already announced before the presentation that there would be no CGI trailers, which means that everything is in the game’s engine. This confirms what Koelz says – it really does look like Fable (4) will look like this when we play it.

Does the new Fable offer a character editor?
Besides the graphics/optics of the game, the biggest criticism is the main protagonist seen in the gameplay trailer. Many complained in the comments section on YouTube that the protagonist wasn’t “hot” enough. So a reason to turn your back on the game – such a small part of the comments. In previous Fable games you could choose your hero’s gender, apparently this is the case again in Fable (4). So far, nothing is known about a character editor in Fable 4, but apparently Playground Games is remembering the beginnings of the franchise.
Fable is in development at Playground Games for Xbox Series X/S and Windows PC. A release window has not yet been officially mentioned.
