For gamers who are eagerly awaiting the sequel to the Psychonauts series, there is bad news: Double Fine Productions founder Tim Shafer has stated that there is currently no work on this project.

In an interview with the YouTube channel CressupShafer said Double Fine is currently in a “closed door” status and is unwilling to share details of its current work. He also confirmed that he is not currently developing Psychonauts 3:
“I’m not working on Psychonauts 3. We’re kind of in the ‘Willy Wonka, closed doors’ phase.” But soon we will be able to open them and do a lot of damage to many children, like Willy Wonka.”
