“Our long-awaited arrival in Spain celebrates the warmth and spontaneity of two cultures that connect on the street,” Farm Rio stated regarding its latest European expansion.
Brazilian fashion label Farm Rio has opened its first permanent boutique in Spain, establishing a presence at number 5 Calle Ortega y Gasset within Madrid’s high-end Salamanca district, Fashion network reported.
Hand-Painted Interiors and Cultural Tributes
The newly opened retail space features wood-panelled walls, a velvet-clad room, and a terrace designed for social gatherings.
To connect the store with its country of origin, the interior incorporates hand-painted details by Brazilian artist Isabela de Oliveira, referencing one of the label’s signature prints.
A Three-Way Collaboration with Real Madrid and Adidas
To coincide with toric openings, the Rio de Janeiro-based brand launched a cooperative collection with Real Madrid and Adidas.
The three-way partnership utilizes five distinct prints across T-shirts, sweatshirts, trousers, skirts, and accessories, combining the label’s motifs with the Real Madrid crest and the Adidas logo.
Players from both the men’s and women’s professional football squads appear in the promotional campaign supporting the release.
Stepping Stones from Ibiza Pop-Ups to Salamanca
Although this location marks Farm Rio’s first permanent brick-and-mortar storefront in Spain, the brand previously established temporary retail footprints in the country during the summer months.
As part of a European seasonal tour targeting luxury holiday destinations, it operated pop-up shops in Ibiza and Marbella, alongside stops in Saint-Tropez and Mykonos.
Global Reach Rooted in Rio de Janeiro
Established in Rio de Janeiro in 1997 by Marcello Bastos and Kátia Barros—who holds the role of creative director—the company operates under chief executive Fabio Barreto.
The brand maintains over one hundred stores in its home market alongside an international retail presence spanning the United States, Mexico, the United Arab Emirates, Colombia, and several European nations including the United Kingdom, France, Italy, and Spain.
