The man was walking on a road near a golf course a little following 5 a.m. before being bitten in the leg by the animal.

He then called 911 and exclaimed “I’m bleeding, I don’t know how, but it’s profuse,” according to a recording of the call obtained by CNN.

“I had yet gone out to walk for my health,” even joked the Floridian.

First responders gave him first aid before he was transported to a hospital by helicopter.

Authorities were able to locate the alligator in question in order to capture and relocate it to a less residential location.

We do not fear for the life of the victim of this attack.

Some 11 alligator bites were reported last year in Florida, where 1.3 million individuals of this species live.

None of them caused death.
