Of course, Livanov did not harbor any hatred for Konchalovsky and does not feel it now. But the relationship that once reigned between them is long gone. And it’s all the director’s fault.

Vasily Borisovich spoke about the event that forever changed his opinion about Andron in the studio of the program “The Fate of a Man”. In a conversation with Boris Korchevnikov, the artist recalled how one day an interesting idea came to his mind about the script for the film “Andrei Rublev”. Livanov betrayed her in the presence of Konchalovsky, who took note of it. “They stole a little one,” said Vasily Borisovich.

“I suffered a lot when this happened behind my back. I starred in Colleagues, they wrote the script after I told them about it, ”the actor shared.

To Konchalovsky’s credit, he had the courage to admit the fact of theft. Moreover, the director even repented before Livanov. True, Andrei Sergeevich’s apology did not bring much success.

“He suffered a lot. He was a childhood friend. And then he asked me for forgiveness under Shpalikov Genk. I told him: “I forgive you, but you have lost my trust forever, and without trust there can be no friendship.” That’s all. <…> Such things should not be forgotten! If a person did this once in friendship, then he can repeat it. Then, I do not believe in his sincere confessions, ”Livanov said.

By the way, the vindictiveness of Vasily Borisovich has long been known. So, for example, the actor did not want to establish relations with the recently deceased director of the Soviet series of films about the adventure of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson Igor Maslennikov. BUT all because of one phrase of the director about the acting abilities of Vasily Borisovich.

But Livanov also knew how to make friends firmly and for life. A striking example is the actor’s relationship with Vitaly Solomin, who played Dr. Watson. The death of a comrade in 2002 was a big blow for Livanov.

“For me it was a gift of fate. Vitaly is God’s work. We became friends literally from the first hours of our communication. The emotional closeness was great! And our wives became friends, our children, and the children are still friends … “- said the people’s artist.
