Former Brimob Commanders Praise Police Chief’s Leadership

Earlier this week at the National Police Headquarters in Jakarta, a number of former commanders of the Mobile Brigade Corps (Dankorbrimob), associated with the Family Association of Brimob (PKBB), met with National Police Chief General Pol Suyudi Ario Seto on Friday (6/11/2026). The gathering, described by Suyudi as an “honorary visit” from his “seniors,” provided a forum for former leaders to offer support, guidance, and input to the police force.

Former Commanders Praise Leadership Initiatives

The Chairperson of PKBB and former Dankorbrimob Polri from 2009 to 2010, Retired General Imam Sudjarwo, emphasized that the visit was not merely a courtesy call. Instead, he said the PKBB aimed to support Suyudi’s policies. Imam highlighted several initiatives taken by Suyudi at the beginning of his tenure, including extensive transfers of personnel and large-scale crackdowns on drug cases in several regions.

“Firstly, we were quite surprised that shortly after his appointment he implemented such extensive transfers,” Imam stated. “A healthy organization must be filled with the right people. This is extraordinary, just a day or two (after taking office as police chief) he can achieve that.”

Actions to Build Public Trust

Imam also specifically praised the police for the arrests of various police generals related to the alleged illegal wiretapping of President Prabowo Subianto’s phone number. He called Suyudi’s actions in this matter “extraordinary and surprising,” noting that the perpetrators were from within the police force itself.

“This is his bravery,” he stated. “In Brimob, we used to say that once you step out, you must succeed; once you step forward, you must not give up. This is his motto, thus he acts quickly.”

Call for Continued Unity

During the meeting, former commanders advised the police to remain united while managing community security and public order (kamtibmas). Suyudi responded by stating that the police are in “very good condition, very solid,” and credited the support from seniors, the TNI, and community leaders for this. He expressed hope that these good relations would continue to flourish to jointly safeguard the integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).

“This is extraordinary; it is a source of pride for all of us, and it certainly requires support not just from the police ranks, the Brimob Corps, but also from all segments of Indonesian society,” Imam concluded.
