Former JICA interns in Japan present their action plans implemented in Gabon –

The members of the Association of Former Gabonese Trainees of JICA (AASJG) in Japan, during the ordinary general assembly organized on Friday March 22, 2024 at the Libreville town hall, presented action plans already implemented in Gabon, for the benefit of the populations.

“We have the presentation of action plans to give each member of the association the opportunity to implement their action plan; therefore show how it is done, with what means it is done and say that it is possible to do it despite all the contingencies noted by everyone where they work.indicated Pascal Benga Tonangoye, president of the AASJG.

These action plans are focused on social issues, nutrition (junk food), health, forestry, the environment and others. To date, more than fifty of the “already successful action plans” have been implemented in the country.

“I presented a methodology applied in Japan. This is 5S. it is a working method that allows us to organize the work environment regardless of the location. At the same time, it allows us to save time, better organize the work space but also the safety of users. This also allows us to achieve more efficient performance while reducing maintenance costs, because we are talking here about the application of 5S in a hospital structure, precisely in an equipment maintenance department. explained Wora Daniel, former JICA intern, also Director of technical service at the Melen regional hospital.

In total, there are more than 700 JICA trainees in Gabon. After their respective training, they are called upon to carry out projects concocted through action plans. These are programs affecting all areas, which must impact the greatest number of people.

“I was impressed that they were very active. We hope that this type of activity can be sustained over time, both financially and technically; it is the will of each member of the association to try to improve living conditions here in Gabon,” rejoiced Shinji Umemoto, Resident Representative of JICA in Gabon.
