FW-Krenn: Reducing the chamber levy 2 has been a long-standing FW demand!

First real step of a long journey!

Vienna (OTS) – The Freedom Economy (FW) welcomes the decision of the WKO Presidium to reduce the Chamber levy 2 by 12 percentage points; after all, this is an old FW demand that has now finally been partially met. But this is only a very small step in the right direction, which must be followed by further significant relief steps, according to FW federal chairman Matthias Krenn.

Krenn says: “Reducing the levy is not really a big deal. If you consider that the wage demands of the ÖGB are roughly in the same range, then we are talking about a zero-sum game, since the chamber levy 2 is calculated from the wage bill. Therefore, the relief is rather marginal and not really a major restriction for the WKO finances!”

On the part of the Freedom Economy, we would have liked to have seen a bolder step from the Chamber, because proper and sustainable relief for companies is the order of the day. We will therefore not give up and demand further cuts in the levies. The economy can urgently use any relief – against the background of an impending recession – Kenn concludes!
