175 Years Old Cream Colored 3 Buildings

The Cathedral Church of Saint John the Evangelist, located on Garden Road in Central, was built in 1847 and has a history of 175 years! The auxiliary hall was completed in 1924, and the administrative complex was added in 1956. St. John’s Cathedral is the oldest Western-style church building in Hong Kong. It has witnessed the changes of Hong Kong during World War II. It is listed as a statutory monument and has unique historical significance!

St. John’s Cathedral is divided into three structures. The Cathedral currently holds regular church activities such as worship, choirs, and press conferences. There is a Cathedral Bookstore in the administrative complex, which provides books, gifts and greeting cards. Next to the main cathedral, there is also a social enterprise Cafe, a detachable building block house, which provides learning and working opportunities for people with different disabilities. Cream-colored building clock tower/wooden door punch card

St. John’s Cathedral is one of the oldest Victorian Gothic buildings in Hong Kong. The walls are mainly in creamy orange, with snow-white lines embellished, very girlish! On the wall of the clock tower, there are also the sign numbers of the first two Hong Kong governors and the shield of the year of construction, which is of great significance and first-class punching!

The gate is designed with a pointed arch, with wooden doors and wooden windows, which has a retro feel of traditional Western-style church buildings. At the same time, the building has more tiled eaves and dark green shutters, integrating Chinese and Western elements, which is very special!
