Google Releases the Pixel 11 Pro Fold at $1,899 Alongside Stiff Industry Competition

Google launched its latest foldable, pricing the Pixel 11 Pro Fold at $1,899 with 256GB of storage, matching the price of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 and sitting just $100 less than the iPhone Duo. That pricing puts Google directly in the crosshairs of global competitors while offering a device that is 19 grams lighter and slightly thinner than its predecessor, measuring 5mm unfolded and 10.1mm folded.

Hardware Refinements Meet Notable Display Limitations

The Pixel 11 Pro Fold features a sturdy chassis, a new olive colorway, a glass-ceramic cover, and a glass-fiber composite back cover designed to absorb impacts. Google claims to have increased durability by three times, matching its IP68 dust-tight and water-resistant rating against competitor specs. The device packs an upgraded 3,600-nit peak outdoor display, a step up from last year’s 3,000-nit panel. Yet, the screen retains a deeply visible crease that becomes especially prominent under bright light, lagging behind competitors like Oppo and Honor in crease suppression.

The hinge remains deliberately stiff, requiring two hands to unfold by design. Inside, the device runs on 16GB of RAM, but Motorola’s competing Razr Fold starts at the same $1,899 price point while doubling baseline storage to 512GB of UFS 4.1 memory and supporting 80W wired charging that reaches 75% in 30 minutes, compared to the Pixel’s 30W charging speed that hits 56% in the same timeframe.

Software Friction and Camera Compromises

Photography on the foldable tier continues to trail Google’s candybar counterparts. The Pixel 11 Pro Fold utilizes an updated 48-megapixel main sensor that lets more light in for photos with better detail, but its ultrawide and telephoto lenses remain identical to the previous generation. Testing the Pixel 11 Pro alongside the iPhone 18 Pro revealed how closely matched high-end mobile hardware has become.
