Around 7 p.m., approximately 100,000 Hydro-Québec customers were without power. The most affected regions are the Laurentians and Montreal, with more than 60,000 outages alone. Teams are currently deployed on the ground to remedy the situation.
Strong winds are to blame. A gust of 93 km/h was even recorded at Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau airport in Montreal around 6:22 p.m. In Montérégie and Lanaudière, peaks of 80 km/h were observed during the last hours.
The cold front linked to the low pressure system of the weekend is approaching, raising the winds almost everywhere on the territory.
