Gyeongnam, ‘Nakdonggang Rivals’ aim for the first win of the Busan season

[OSEN=강필주 기자] Gyeongnam FC will take ‘Nakdonggang Rival’ Busan as the first win of the season in the second round of ‘Hana One Q K League 2 2022’ to be held at Miryang Sports Complex at 4 pm on the 27th.

Gyeongnam, which unfortunately lost 0-1 in the opening match against Seoul E-Land, is showing a strong side to Busan in its past record. Gyeongnam has met Busan 42 times and has the upper hand with 21 wins, 7 draws and 14 losses. In the last 10 matches, they have 5 wins, 2 draws and 3 losses.

Also, although Gyeongnam’s undefeated streak was broken by the defeat in the last match against E-Land, they are maintaining good results at the Miryang Sports Complex. In Miryang, they recorded 3 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss in 6 matches.

Coach Seol Ki-hyun said, “Leaving Changwon was a burden, but I quickly got used to it. The away teams will be more difficult. I will change the style so I won’t be greatly affected by the grass.”

Ahead of an important match called ‘Nakdong River Derby’, Gyeongnam has high expectations for ‘rookie’ Lee Jun-jae. Lee Jun-jae entered the first-team stage through the youth system of Gyeongnam and caught the eye of coach Seol Ki-hyun from this winter training. His K-League debut, against E-Land, also showed his presence as a confident high school student.

Coach Seol Ki-hyeon also praised, “Lee Jun-jae did well in winter training, so I was looking forward to it, but he did well to live up to expectations. He showed a lot of potential for development.” Lee Joon-jae’s addition is expected to be a big boost to Gyeongnam, where there are many injured.

Gyeongnam’s Hernandez and Seol Hyun-jin, who complained of injuries in the match against E-Land, are expected to play in Busan as soon as possible, as their injuries are not as serious as expected. There is also the possibility of Willian’s return, who stayed on the bench against E-Land due to an ankle injury.

Meanwhile, Gyeongnam plans to deliver Miryang specialties to Busan and Gyeonggi Province as tribute. After 2017, the team that lost in Busan and the Nakdong River Derby had to donate local specialties to the winning team as a tribute, and Gyeongnam, who unfortunately lost in the last Nakdong River Derby last season, prepared special products from the Miryang region. /[email protected]
