Moments of panic and anguish were experienced early last Thursday morning by the residents of Sucre Street in the Venezuela neighborhood, in the Miguel Peña parish of Valencia, specifically behind the Fundación Mendoza sector, when a voracious fire broke out in one of the homes, leaving one elderly person dead.

The victim – yet to be identified – was burned to death inside his home, located at the aforementioned address. Apparently the grandfather was alone when the fire started, which quickly spread throughout the house and he was trapped in the flames.

Due to the smoke that spread through the area, despite the hour, residents were able to notice the fire and acted to try to put it out, but the situation was difficult to control so they notified the Carabobo Fire Department.

Once the firefighting team arrived at the scene of the incident, they put their techniques into practice until they managed to put out the fire, but unfortunately the flames had consumed the body of this person, as well as the property.

Finally, it was learned that the body was transferred by officers of the Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigations Corps (CICPC) to the Senamecf unit for the respective autopsy and identification by his relatives. The experts of the Fire Department began the investigations to determine the causes that produced this fire.
