The Health Department reported today, Sunday, seven new deaths from COVID-19bringing to 4,310 the total number of victims attributed to the pandemic since March 2020.
Through a tweet, the agency explained that three of the deceased were not vaccinated, another two had received only two doses of the drug and the last two had completed their vaccination cycle (including booster doses).
Not counting these deaths, so far in May there have been 86 deaths from COVID-19. The month of April closed with 42 deaths.
The daily average of deaths amounts to four. However, the doctor and biostatistician rafael irizarry warned that an average of five daily deaths from COVID-19 could begin to register in Puerto Rico if the rate of the reported increase that began on March 15 is maintained.

The percentage continues to move away from the 5% recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) and 3% who prefer local experts to keep the virus under control.
