Update from October 18th, 5:45 p.m: The “Day of Wrath” declared by Hezbollah against Israel appears to have an impact as far away as South America. The Israeli embassy in the Argentine capital Buenos Aires, home to one of the largest Jewish communities outside of Israel, has been evacuated after a bomb threat. Explosives specialists have since searched the building but were unable to discover anything suspicious, police said today. The US embassy also received a threat. According to police reports, no suspicious items were discovered there during a search.

Update from October 18th, 4:05 p.m: Thousands of Hezbollah supporters demonstrated today in the Lebanese capital Beirut against the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip. “We stand here to express our condemnation and extreme anger at the Zionists’ successive massacres,” said Hezbollah Executive Council Chairman Hashim Safi al-Din. “We must bear our responsibility today so that Gaza does not fall and will not fall,” he continued. The demonstrators chanted “Death to Israel,” and posters showed Israeli fighter jets with the slogan “Made in USA.” Last night, the pro-Iranian militia declared a “day of unprecedented anger” against Israel on Wednesday.
“Day of Rage” in France: Several airports evacuated due to bomb threats
Update from October 18th, 12:35 p.m.: The airports in Lille, Lyon and Toulouse in France were evacuated on Wednesday due to bomb threats. An abandoned piece of luggage caused security forces to be called into action at Nice airport on Wednesday. The airport said operations are now back to normal.
Bomb threats have been increasing in France for several days, particularly against schools. So far, the police have not been able to discover anything unusual in any case. The Louvre in Paris was also affected by a false bomb alarm, and the Palace of Versailles even twice. It has not yet been possible to determine who is behind the threats. France is currently on the highest terror alert level after an Islamist-radicalized young man stabbed a teacher and injured three other people in a school in Arras on Friday. The attacker claimed responsibility for the Islamic State (IS) terrorist militia. He was overpowered and arrested by the police. There was also a bomb threat there before a memorial at the school on Monday.
