Championship Stakes and the Undercard Lineup
Canelo aims to reclaim championship gold following his defeat to Terence Crawford in September 2025. His opponent, Christian Mbilli, held interim gold before promotion to the full-time WBC champion. Mbilli enters the bout sporting a 29-0-1 record with 24 knockout wins, looking to defend his title in Riyadh. Commenting on the matchup, Mbilli told The Ring, He’s made a mistake, and I’m going to make him pay,
regarding Canelo choosing to fight him.
The supporting card features high-profile championship matchups. Jaime Munguia faces Nikita Zon for the WBA super middleweight title, while Rafael Espinoza defends his WBO featherweight belt against Ricardo Blandon. Additional bouts feature featherweight action with David Picasso taking on Carl Jammes Martin, alongside several super featherweight and super middleweight encounters, including Reito Tsutsumi versus Raymundo Rojas Garcia, Bek Nurmaganbet versus Marcos Vazquez Rodriguez, Brayan Leon versus Hector Aguirre, Emiliano Rojo versus Flavius Biea, and Sultan Almohammed versus Erick Jahir Urvina Villegas.
Broadcast Timelines and Event Schedule
Because the event takes place at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, US viewers must adjust for an afternoon schedule. The main card broadcast begins around 1 p.m. ET. The main event ring walk is projected for approximately 4:30 p.m. ET, though precise timing depends on the duration of the undercard fights.
