In Aalborg the price rises, but here it falls

Perhaps the people of Aalborg will lean a little towards Frederikshavn Municipality, the next time they have to pay their heating bill.

Because while the price of district heating rises in Aalborg Municipality, it takes a dive in Frederikshavn Municipality.

This is what Frederikshavn Varme A/S writes in a press release.

The price of district heating starts at DKK 862.5/MWh incl. VAT, at DKK 695/MWh incl. VAT, and it happens on 1 April. This means a saving of approximately DKK 3,000 incl. VAT annually for a standard house of 130 square meters with an annual consumption of 18.1 MWh.

– We are lowering the district heating price due to the stabilization of electricity and gas prices, and because we can now make adjustments to heat production in the form of improvements and better performance, says Erik Kyed Trolle, chairman of the board of Frederikshavn Forsyning A/S.

– It is especially our electric cartridge and accumulation tank that enable us to produce cheap heat. We can store excess energy that is produced in the evening and at night when electricity is cheap.

In addition to the savings on district heating, there is also good news for the climate at the same time.

At the heating plant on Vendsysselvej, a heat pump for flue gas cooling is installed between the boiler and the chimney with the purpose of cooling the flue gas from the chimney. In this way, the heating company utilizes the energy, leaves as little waste as possible and saves what corresponds to the annual heat consumption of 150 households.
