In Riga, during the demolition of a building, a time capsule from the USSR was found. So what’s there? (PHOTO)

According to the Panorāma LTV program, the building of the unique maternity hospital remained unfinished. The ruins of this building were recently demolished and work continues to clean up and improve the surrounding area.

A half-empty construction site located in Riga, located next to the Gaiļezers hospital, remained an abandoned site for many years. Contrary to plans to build a maternity hospital, the project was never implemented. The building stood unfinished for more than 30 years and was finally demolished.

The fact that the capsule was placed in the foundation 36 years ago was written by both the popular newspaper Rīgas Balss and the magazine Veselība, reports the portal Lsm.lv.

Workers working on the construction site discovered the capsule at a depth of about three meters between the piles and concrete.

The workers’ expectation that newspapers or coins from that time would be found in the capsule was not realized. Instead, the capsule contained only a message with information about the technical characteristics of the building.

“Today, February 22, 1988, the first foundation of a unique building was laid – a new maternity hospital.” It is also promised that the new generation will be born in a modern, new, bright maternity hospital.
