In the past three years, 301 Catholic churches have been attacked in the United States

Washington DC: A study reports that 301 Catholic churches across the United States have been attacked in the nearly three years since May 2020. This shocking information was released by ‘Catholic Vote’, America’s leading political advocacy group. The report also points out that the 2022 leak of the Supreme Court’s draft document related to overturning the infamous ‘Roe vs. Word’ ruling that legalized abortion led to an increase in attacks on churches.

Churches damaged by vandalism and fire will include places of worship of historical importance. There were attacks such as writing satanic messages with paint on the walls and doors of the temple, breaking idols by throwing stones etc. through the window, and creating obstacles during the divine sacrifice. During this period, 45 attacks were reported in California alone and 29 in New York.

In the report, the ‘Catholic vote’ condemned the Biden administration for refusing to take steps to protect churches and end ‘domestic terrorism’. Last year, Senator Michael Lee and Congressman Chip Roy sent a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland expressing concern about attacks on churches in the wake of the leaked Supreme Court order.

Their reminder that religious freedom, a fundamental principle of the Constitution, should be guaranteed regardless of one’s position on abortion was big news.
