Al-Marsad newspaper: The Minister of Transport and Logistics Services, Engineer Saleh Al-Jasser, announced the construction of a new huge airport in the city of Riyadh, expected to start its first flights within two or three years.
The minister explained, during his meeting on the “In the Picture” program on the Gulf Rotana channel, yesterday evening, Monday, that the airport is expected to be in the same location as its current, but with new halls and halls.
The Minister commended the Public Investment Fund, stressing that it is a real and very strong assistant in implementing the national strategy for transport and logistics, in addition to having great capabilities and an advanced governance system at the global level, and has ambitions to invest in many areas.
And he added, “Many vital areas and national strategic initiatives are cooperating and being undertaken by the Investment Fund.”
When asked regarding the date of the airport’s readiness for work, the Minister of Transport said, the company is still under establishment and the work might be completed within a few years: “It might be two or three years, and he would make his first flights.”
