Influencer arrested for nearly $ 1 million fraud

An Australian influencer was arrested on Friday for defrauding part of her investors.

The former model, who maintains a wellness blog, Bianca Cheah was apprehended by border police on her return from the United States.

She was presented to a judge who charged her with two counts of fraud, reports the Herald Sun.

The 40-year-old is said to have duped several investors for the sum of AUS $ 1 million (approximately CAN $ 920,000).

A complaint was filed in 2018 against Ms. Cheah and her now ex-husband by people who had injected money into their business, Sporteluxe.

They then suspected the blogger of having “made up” the income of the company.

Released on bail, Bianca Cheah will be back in court on February 22.
