This result includes that of exclusive reinsurers which reached 282 million dirhams (MDH) (-9.5%), specifies the report, adding that despite an unfavorable financial environment, the net result of direct insurers increased by 1.8% to 4 billion dirhams.
This performance was only possible thanks to the non-technical result (801.6 million dirhams (MDH)) which compensated for the drop in the technical result (-805.4 MDH), explains the report, specifying that the drop in the result technical concern both the life branch (-303.4 MDH) and the non-life branch (-502.0 MDH).
It results from the combined effect of the decline in the financial balance of 23.8% (-1.4 billion dirhams), mainly impacted by the poor performance of the stock market and the increase in the operating margin of 36.2 %, (529.8 million dirhams), due in particular to the decline in motor insurance claims. In view of these developments, the rate of return on equity (ROE) fell slightly to stand at 9.4% once morest 9.5% a year earlier.
