Sharamushaikh: Peace talks were held in Egypt amid frequent Israeli-Palestinian conflict in the occupied West Bank. Other Palestinian factions, including Hamas, boycotted the talks, which were attended by representatives of the Palestinian Authority and Israel, as well as Egyptian, US and Jordanian officials. Criticism among Palestinians is that the discussion is pointless in a situation where illegal immigration is declared to continue and violence against Palestinians is repeated.
Musa Abu Marzouk, the spokesman for Hamas, which rules Gaza, said that it does not matter if the farce conference was held without ending Israel’s crimes, and therefore does not approve of the Sharamuseikh conference.
