Without notice, Netflix decided to remove its basic plan in Canada. With this, it is believed that Brazil will soon have the cheapest ad-free subscription option withdrawn. This move may mean that the company intends to force subscribers to watch ads if they don’t want to pay for the standard ad-free plan, which currently costs R$39.90.
As we talked about in our article about whether it is worth subscribing to the plan with Netflix ads, the subscription to the basic plan has HD transmission only (720p) and two simultaneous screens. Also, only one device can download content to watch it offline. Perhaps, due to the low demand and the price of R$ 25.90, Netflix decided to remove this option from its plan offerings.
Competitors offer lower prices and no ads
