The Vancouver Canucks placed forward Jack Studnicka on waivers Monday followingnoon.

Acquired in October 2022 from the Boston Bruins in exchange for goaltender Michael DiPietro and defenseman Jonathan Myrenberg, the 24-year-old Ontarian is struggling to find his place in the National League. In 90 career games, he has only six goals and 10 assists for 16 points.

Studnicka, however, enjoyed success during his stints in the American League, notably amassing 49 points in 60 games with the Providence Bruins in 2019-2020.

This season with the Canucks, he has only scored one goal in five duels, being left out on numerous occasions. His two-season contract, signed with the Bruins just a few months before the transaction, will expire this summer.

Studnicka was selected in the second round (53rd overall) of the 2017 draft.
