Jia Shin (Yeongdong Middle School) won a precious silver medal at the 2022 International Skating Union (ISU) Figure Skating World Junior Championships.

In the women’s single free skating at the 2022 ISU Figure Skating World Junior Championships held in Tallinn, Estonia on the 18th (Korea time) on the 18th (Korean time), Shin Jia scored 136.63 points with a technical score of 74.52 and an artistic score of 62.11, 69.38 obtained in the short program the previous day. With a final total score of 206.01 points, he took second place and won a silver medal.

Shin Ji-ah, who broke her personal best in short, free, and total points through this event, showed potential, only 0.54 points higher than Isabo Levito of the United States (206.55 points in total), who won the tournament, even though she won a silver medal.

The ISU Figure Skating World Junior Championships is the most prestigious international figure skating junior international competition, and it is the second time in 16 years since Kim Yuna won a prize for a Korean athlete.

Through her management company All That Sports, Shin Jia said, “I am very happy to have won a medal in 16 years since Yuna unnie. She played a satisfactory game today. She was also surprised to win a silver medal, which she didn’t expect, and she felt good. Please look forward to her in the future,” she said.

In addition, Yoon Ah-sun (Guangdong Middle School), who participated in the women’s singles together, finished fourth with 71.18 TES points and 58.41 PCS points, 129.59 points in the free skating and 195.87 points in the final.

Seoyoung Wi (Surigo) finished fifth with 120.63 points in the free skating and 186.72 points in the final.

As a result, all three Korean players who participated in the women’s singles event achieved a feat of entering the TOP5.

Cha Young-hyeon (Korea University), who participated in the men’s singles event, finished 19th with a total score of 175.63, and Haena Lim-Ye Kwan-jo, who participated in the ice dance event, finished 6th with a total score of 154.44.
