The first racket of Russia and the eighth racket of the world Daria Kasatkina lost to the Czech Barbora Kreychikova (30) in the second round of the WTA-1000 tournament in Dubai (UAE), the prize fund of which is almost $ 2.8 million. The second round match ended with a score of 6:4, 4 :6, 7:5.
Tennis players spent 2 hours and 34 minutes on the court. Kasatkina made three aces, made five double faults and converted six out of 14 break points. On account of Kreychikova – three filings right through, eight double faults and six realized out of 12 break points.
A day earlier, Russia’s second racket Veronika Kudermetova (11) failed to qualify for the second round of the tournament, losing to Ukrainian Angelina Kalinina (33).
Kreichikova’s opponent in the third round will be determined in the match between Yulia Putintseva (Kazakhstan) and Petra Kvitova (Czech Republic).
The winner of the tournament in Dubai will earn $454,000 in prize money and 900 rating points.
