The couple first met in December 2009 through common friends. Aajtak notes that they began dating in January 2010 when the actress was 17 years old and finishing her class 12 studies. Their relationship spanned approximately 15 years before they ultimately married in December 2024.

The couple formally wed on December 12, 2024, at a private ceremony in Goa. According to Cinematalk and Zoomtventertainment, the wedding incorporated both traditional Tamil Hindu and Malayali Christian customs to honor the heritage of both families.
Thattil works as a businessman dealing in the import of window furnishing materials. He felt intense anxiety regarding the presence of paparazzi following the wedding announcement, frequently checking for photographers nearby, as Aajtak notes.
