The Government of Mexico through the Ministry of the Environment and Natural Resources (Semarnat) announced on Tuesday that Lake Texcoco, an area where the New Mexico International Airport (NAIM) was planned to be built, was declared a protected natural area with the character of Natural Resources Protection Area.
