In fact, these photos are all submitted by people from all over the world. The reason and purpose behind them is to make a meaningful contribution to wildlife. This “Comedy Wildlife Photography Award” started in 2015 and has gone through twists and turns. However, with everyone’s efforts, the competition has continued to grow and has even become a global competition, allowing the public to see the most real, funny and even cute side of wild animals.

“Conservation through (funny photo) competition!” Why the Comedy Wildlife Photography Award? Co-founder Paul Joynson-Hicks said that our world is incredibly beautiful and interconnected, but humans have done their best to overexploit and destroy it. “Wildlife conservation and sustainable development issues have attracted increasing attention around the world. But the messages and images conveyed are often negative, discouraging and depressing.”

Paul, who lives in East Africa and is a wildlife photographer, said that whenever he looks through the photos, there are always a few photos of animals that make him burst into laughter, like an eagle looking at him through its hind legs. , or the butt of a warthog, etc. “It made me realize that the humor of these photos is both funny and can make people understand the threats these animals face.” So 8 years ago, the Comedy Wildlife Photography Award was held in Paul It was born in a small office on the Usa River on the slopes of Mount Meru in northern Tanzania. As it is held year after year, and under Paul’s guidance, this competition has now become a very famous and popular wildlife photography competition. A global competition that, most importantly, makes a meaningful contribution to the amazing world of wildlife.

It can be difficult for people to digest the large amount of information or photos about the dangers to animals and their habitats, but Paul firmly believes that through the content of the Comedy Wildlife Photography Award, he can show the true degree of similarity and arouse everyone’s sympathy. “There is no need to cover your eyes or look away. We hope our viewers will share our enjoyment of nature and take the time to recognize its value.”

“Through the Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards, we aim to expand understanding of and participation in a sustainable world, and specifically wildlife conservation, to protect biodiversity and the health and abundance of everyone on the planet.” Paul and team Tom (Tom Sullam) and Michelle Wood were convinced that this was their mission. They admitted that it was indeed a bit bold and grand, but then humorously said: “Isn’t this what a mission should be like? If you are determined, you will win, otherwise there is nothing else.” Meaning. We want to educate and enlighten, and we want to do that by winning people’s attention by showing them something they wouldn’t expect.” Just the thought of opening your eyes can lead to a greater understanding of the natural world, And encouraging them to share our value and enjoyment of nature feels very meaningful.
