A computer scientist is suing her boss for sexual harassment for putting what she believed to be a coded way to ask for sex in an email.
Karina Gasparova also claims that her boss, Alexandre Goulandris renames files inappropriately to seduce her.
According to her, the man renamed a work file with the abbreviation of the English expression “A Jumbo Genital” (which translates as: massive genitals). However, “ajg” are also his initials.
The London Employment Tribunal said that Mr’s perception of the eventsme Gasparova was “skewed” and her claims were denied.
Mme Gasparova was a project manager in the London office of essDOCS.
The court heard she believed her supervisor, Mr Goulandris, was ‘trying to seduce her’ when discussing business on work calls and claimed he would often stare at her.
She also criticized her employer for insinuating a desire to engage in sexual acts in their email correspondence.
Presented as evidence, the email from Mr. Goulandris read:
“Can you please complete the following:

Mme Gasparova, who represented herself, maintained that the “xx” referred to kisses, the “yy” to sexual contact and the “????”, a coded way of asking when she would be ready to engage in sex. sexual acts with him.
However, the court panel ruled that this was a genuine request for information and that the request did not imply contact of a sexual nature.
The woman then filed a formal grievance against Mr. Goulandris, but resigned shortly after the petition was denied.
