The French Institute of Gabon (IFG) served as a framework for the restitution work of the “Forests and Elephants” symposium, co-organized last November by the National Museum of Natural History of Paris (MNHN) and the National Agency for national parks (ANPN).This restitution aims to inform and further involve participants (decision-makers, managers and other conservation stakeholders, including representatives of local populations) in the search for possible solutions for the management of forest elephants in Gabon.It was also about making the most of the results of scientific research in order to develop sustainable programs adapted to the current needs of the country.
