Lex Veldhuis Joins GGPoker as Global Streaming Ambassador

Lex Veldhuis has become the newest GGPoker ambassador. The Dutch poker professional, who built an empire on Twitch with nearly 330,000 followers and stands as the platform’s most popular poker livestreamer in history, has signed on as the company’s Global Streaming Ambassador, GGPoker announced Tuesday in a press release issued from Dublin.

The signing, dated Nov. 3, 2026, lands roughly 10 months after Veldhuis announced on Jan. 3, 2026, that his long-standing ambassador deal with PokerStars had ended—a departure that came as a shock to many in the industry. Reports variously describe the PokerStars partnership as lasting 15 or 17 years, and neither side gave a reason for the split.

Veldhuis arrives with both competitive credentials and massive streaming reach. Beyond his Twitch channel, where he was named Streamer of the Year at the first two Global Poker Awards covering 2018 and 2019, he has accumulated more than $700,000 in live tournament cashes and has appeared on televised high-stakes cash game shows including the PokerStars Big Game and High Stakes Poker. He primarily plays multi-table tournaments online and live cash games.

Daniel Negreanu Welcomes Veldhuis to the GGTeam Roster

The Lex Veldhuis GGPoker ambassador signing places him on a star-studded GGTeam lineup headlined by Daniel Negreanu, who has been the face of GGPoker for the past seven years after becoming a free agent from PokerStars in 2019, along with Michael Mizrachi. In the announcement, Negreanu praised the addition, stating: “His passion for the game, his unmatched work ethic, and his ability to connect with fans are exactly what we look for in a GGTeam ambassador.”

Veldhuis said the platform had rekindled his enthusiasm for grinding. “I’m really excited to officially join GGTeam as Global Streaming Ambassador and begin this new chapter,” he said in the press release. “GGPoker is the biggest poker site in the world, and it really feels like the natural fit for me and my community. Over the last year I’ve played exclusively on GG and have been genuinely impressed by the software and the size of the tournaments. It has completely invigorated my enjoyment of poker and grinding again. Every time I’ve spoken with the GGPoker team I’ve been intrigued by their vision and their drive to innovate. It made me realize I wanted to be part of this process.”

The Dutch pro had stepped back from streaming for most of 2025, but returned in January 2026 to grind multi-table tournaments on GGPoker. His comeback was immediate: in his first month back, he averaged 2,034 concurrent viewers across about 190 hours of streaming, ranking as the top channel in Twitch’s Poker category and adding 2,569 followers, according to Poker Industry News.

Practical considerations shaped his return to regular broadcasting. For nearly three years, Veldhuis had traveled from his home in the Netherlands to a studio in Belgium to keep streaming after PokerStars exited the Dutch market in November 2021 following an order from regulator Kansspelautoriteit. GGPoker holds a Dutch license, which allowed Veldhuis to stream from home again starting in January—and he won the first tournament he played on that return, according to PokerTube.

Under the agreement, Veldhuis will stream regularly on GGPoker’s own platform, speak up for online poker content creators, and promote the site’s Streamer Mode program while running exclusive tournaments and promotions for his community.

Streamer Mode and the Road to WSOP Paradise

Streamer Mode has a published entry bar: a creator needs three months of consistent poker streaming and an average of at least 40 concurrent viewers to be considered, according to PokerTube. Veldhuis now fronts a program whose minimum audience sits well below his own regular numbers, positioning him as the showcase rather than a typical participant.

Lex Live about GGPoker Signing

The partnership will offer exclusive tournaments and special promotions designed specifically for Veldhuis’s community, though specific schedules and promotional details have not yet been revealed. These initiatives aim to deepen engagement with viewers who experience poker primarily through livestreams, reflecting the growing importance of content creators in the competitive online poker industry.

The timing places Veldhuis at the center of GGPoker’s upcoming marquee series. WSOP Paradise runs Dec. 2–17 at Baha Mar in the Bahamas, featuring 20 bracelet events and $120 million in total guarantees.

Veldhuis has already delivered results on the platform. About five months before signing, he won his first GGPoker title—the $5,250 Bounty Hunters Main Event for roughly $68,000, according to Poker.org—and has indicated he wants to play more live poker in addition to his online grinding. The audience followed him back to the platform immediately upon his return.

The move also arrives as PokerStars’ U.S. footprint has contracted significantly; the standalone real-money sites in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Ontario closed in March, with the brand now operating exclusively within FanDuel as of April 1. As Veldhuis settles into his new ambassador role, the next confirmed checkpoint is the WSOP Paradise series beginning Dec. 2 in the Bahamas, where GGPoker’s expanded streaming presence will be on full display.
