Tel Aviv: Long Island resident Nathalie Sanandaji miraculously survived the October 7 attack by Hamas terrorists at the Israeli music festival Nova Festival. The woman is preparing to return to Israel. The 28-year-old woman says she feels less safe in the US and feels safer in Israel.

Sanandaji is an Iranian Israeli. She said she had witnessed anti-Semitic acts at protests in the city since the start of the war. The young woman says she felt safer in Israel than in the U.S. despite the war.

“A lot of people have asked me if I’m afraid to go back to Israel after everything that’s happened, and my honest answer is… I want to move to Israel more than ever. For the first time in my life I started to feel hatred for my faith. I am from the Jewish community. My friends are hiding their Jewish identity. Pre-Holocaust events are being remembered. I fear history will repeat itself’, the woman said.
