Manhunt pressure too high: Suspects turned themselves in to the police after the robbery

They were arrested and taken to a detention center. The two suspects, a 16-year-old and a 19-year-old, are said to have watched their victim in front of his home address on Simmeringer Hauptstrasse and pushed him into his premises. The older man is said to have threatened his victim with a handgun and, with the participation of the 16-year-old, forced and tortured him into humiliating acts. The duo then left the apartment with several of the victim’s valuables.

The suspects told the police that although they were in the apartment, they did not use a weapon and did not steal anything. However, the looted property was found during house searches at the suspects’ addresses, but the murder weapon was missing. Both were taken to a prison by order of the Vienna public prosecutor’s office. A specific motive for their actions is not yet known.
