Manuel Feller storms into second place in the giant slalom in Val d’Isere

Val d’Isère (FRA) – After the overseas speed competitions, the technical team will continue this weekend in Val d’Isère (FRA). Today a giant slalom was run on the Face de Bellevarde. At the top of the podium is again the Swiss Marco Odermatt, who set the best time in both heats. He shares the pedestal manuel feller as second and Zan Kranjec (SLO) in third place. Overall, three ÖSV runners are in the top 10, a very good result for the team.

Manuel Feller made a very good run in the first run and was second in the intermediate ranking. In the second run, “Felli” was able to show that he is currently in top form again.

Manual Traps: “The placement is definitely right. The first run was definitely better than the second, but I fought until the end. But of course, you can’t be satisfied with the gap of 1.4 seconds, I have to say that honestly. The gap is just too big.”

Stefan Brennsteiner, back after tearing his meniscus during the preparations in autumn, did two good runs and finished seventh. It went just as well for Carinthian Marco Schwarz, who ultimately placed eighth.

For Roland Leitinger, as for Stefan Brennsteiner, it was a comeback race. After his third cruciate ligament tear, who is returning to the World Cup. He wasn’t entirely satisfied with the end result, being last in the classification. “I would have imagined it differently, that it would be better. Unfortunately it didn’t want to be.”

For Patrick Feurstein it was 21st place in the final classification.

Unfortunately, Raphael Haaser, Lukas Feurstein and Dominik Raschner could not qualify for the second round.
