Marcelo Mindlin’s oil company opens from gas to produce oil

The company led by Marcelo Mindlin, Pampa Energía will have an intense 2023 in which its ambitious commitment to the gas segment in Vaca Muerta seeks to add the development of its first oil block shale. The CEO of the firm, Gustavo Mariani, confirmed in the last presentation of operating and financial results that the company seeks to “balance” its portfolio in the Neuquén Basin with new oil development. Today almost 90% of the company’s production is gas.

The area is located in the Vaca Muerta black oil region and sits just above development blocks such as Vista’s Aguada Federal and YPF’s La Amarga Chica.

Pampa has a 55% interest in Rincón de Aranda and a 45% The rest belongs to the French company TotalEnergies. The company currently has one exploratory shale well underway.

In addition to Rincón de Aranda, the company has interests in the Veta Escondida, Río Neuquén – Río Negro, and Neuquén blocks. The first three have concessions until 2027 and the last one until 2051.
