Mediascope: more than 9 million Russians watched Putin’s message

The message of Russian President Vladimir Putin to the Federal Assembly was watched on all channels by 9 million 246.1 thousand residents of Russian cities with a population of more than 100 thousand people over four years old, reported “RIA Novosti” with reference to data provided by Mediascope.

According to the company’s estimates, the majority watched the broadcast of the message on the air of Channel One (4.7% of the category under study and 25% of the entire TV audience). The second place in terms of popularity was occupied by the TV channel “Russia-1” (4.7% and 24.9%), the third – NTV (2% and 10.8%). The remaining lines are occupied by the channels “Russia-24”, “Mir”, “Soloviev Live” and “Zvezda”, the agency reports.

The announcement of the presidential address to the Federal Assembly took place in Gostiny Dvor in Moscow on February 21. In his message, Vladimir Putin touched upon the topic of the military operation in Ukraine, the domestic policy of the state, and announced the suspension of Russia’s participation in the Treaty on the Reduction of Strategic Offensive Arms. The President’s speech lasted 1 hour 45 minutes 49 seconds.
