Today, citizens of Sidon were surprised by the dumping of hundreds of medical tubes that are usually used in medical laboratories and in hospitals near one of the waste containers at the gate above, in a way that threatens public safety by transmitting diseases and germs among people.
Citizens asked, “What degree of disregard for public health and safety has we reached, especially since the city is already suffering from a waste crisis that individual and collective initiatives are working to address,” appealing to those concerned to “put an end to this persistent disregard for people’s health and public safety, especially with regard to medical waste.”
