In a message on the Telegram platform, the Russian ex-president, after expressing his condolences for the victims of the attacks, proceeded with a message in which he committed to severe retaliation, while even threatening death.
“Terrorists only understand the terror of reprisals,” he stressed and promised to respond “to death with death.” “If it is established that they are terrorists of the Kiev regime, all of them must be ruthlessly dismantled, including the officials,” he noted.
Ukraine, for its part, through Volodymyr Zelenskiy’s advisor Mykhailo Podoliak, clarified that Kiev was not involved in the bloody incident. “Let’s be clear, Ukraine has absolutely nothing to do with these events,” Podoliak, whose country has been fighting the Russian invasion for two years, assured Telegram. “Ukraine has never used terrorist methods of war,” he added.
For Ukraine, “it is important to conduct effective military operations, offensive actions to destroy the regular Russian army and put an end to the invasion,” the official said.
The Freedom Legion for Russia, an anti-Kremlin-based paramilitary organization of Russian fighters based in Ukraine that regularly carries out incursions into Russian border areas, also denied any involvement in this attack on a concert hall in the suburbs of Moscow.
“We underline that the Legion is not fighting Russian citizens,” the organization said, blaming “Putin’s terrorist regime” for the “preparation” of this “bloody provocation” and its “media coverage.”
In its statement, the White House, after condemning the terrorist acts, conveyed the message that Ukraine was not involved in the attacks.
