The Central Epidemic Command Center announced today (19) that there were 1,626 new local cases in China and 12 new confirmed cases in Miaoli County. The county government stated that 4 of them were explained yesterday, and 1 new Nanguo, Zhunan Town, was added today. Case 37463, a 37-year-old male who lives in Zhunan Town, sang at KTV in Taoyuan City on April 15, accompanied his mother to the hospital for testing, and was notified of a positive diagnosis on the evening of April 18.

Case 37464, a 21-year-old male who lives in Toufen City, is the younger brother of a soldier serving in Yilan in case 36139 announced yesterday. He was tested before home isolation, and he was notified of a positive diagnosis on the evening of April 18. Case 37826, a 29-year-old female who rented a house in Zhunan Town, returned to Pingtung from April 16 to 17. She had a fever and went to the emergency department of Weigong Hospital on April 18. The test was positive and the diagnosis was confirmed.

The county government pointed out that considering that 2 students in Xinnan Elementary School were diagnosed yesterday, 3 students were diagnosed, and the number of teachers and students who needed to be tested was large, so the whole school (including kindergartens) was suspended for 2 days. Classes, and the rest of the classes will resume physical classes on April 21.
