Michailidou: This week the proposal for the minimum wage – 2024-03-21 10:45:08

According to the announcement of Domna Michailidou, Minister of Labour, the proposal to increase the minimum wage will come to the fore within the week.

The aim is for the final decision to be taken by the cabinet next Wednesday, March 27, 2024.

“Last Friday we received the final recommendation from LAUGH which recommends a 4-5% increase in the minimum wage,” said the Minister of Labor.

The government’s goal is to increase wages as a whole in Greece. “In the last 4 years, wages in our country have risen more than inflation, something that the European average has not been able to do,” he said, clarifying that “we have started from a lower position than other European countries for this reason the increase is even greater.”

At the same time, according to the protothema, the lady Michailidou estimated that the number of retired workers registered on the relevant platform will increase.

Before the platform was implemented, there were 36,000 working pensioners and today 44,000 have already been registered on the platform.
